On the movies The Royal Tenenbaums (2001) and The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson
After looking at several examples of directors who have signature styles, I want you to look through the list and select a director. The four directors are all very different from each other, which allows each of you to watch films that are of interest to you individually. Once you know which director you want to focus on, choose two movies they made and watch them. As you watch the film you should note the following:

What do you notice about their style? What aspects of cinematography and mise-en-scene do you see they use a lot? What does their signature style do for the film (does it make it better? Worse?) How do you feel about their style?
Instructions:
You will be writing a 3-page compare and contrast essay on the two films you watched. You must find three aspects that you will be analyzing. Each point should have its own paragraph, and you need to include a conclusion at the end where you discuss how you felt about the style.
