For this essay, write a PROFILE of a person, place or event related to a field of study/major/career that is of interest to you.
Your PURPOSE is to explore, observe, and present the target audience with an informative and engaging portrait of your subject. Your target AUDIENCE is first-year college freshmen who have not yet declared, or decided on, a major.
Following proper MLA guidelines, this essay must utilize two primary sources and at least one secondary source. As always, follow all rules of standard, written English as well as our “Standard Format Guidelines” handout.
During our pre-writing and drafting process, we will explore our textbook as well as our catalog of essays. The final, printed version of this document must be 3-to-5 pages in length, and it must include a Work Cited page.
