The attached article explores the Concept of Value Creation in Program Planning and Systems Engineering Processes for the Defense and Aerospace Industries. The hypotheses of the authors is that the program management and systems engineering disciplines might benefit from a better understanding of the concepts of value both theoretically and empirically. If programs will learn how to include a formal concept of value in their program definition and systems engineering processes, the awareness of teams toward achieving that value will increase and overall end results will better serve the needs of customers, teams, and performing organizations (Patanakul and Shenhar, 2009).
