perhaps the most challenging question for any human being is the one of suffering and evil. When we hear about the pain and inhumanity happening all around the world we cannot help but wonder why. Moreover, if there truly is such a good God governing all things then why, we might ask, does he allow such injustices to continue.

- What do you expect God to do, just eliminate our free will so that we’re all just pain free aliens? Even though it hurts, it is ultimately good that God allows suffering because it is that very same free will that allows us to choose love, compassion, just and all the other good things of God.
- God does not tolerate suffering and evil. He took on human form in the person of Jesus for this very reason, so that he could suffer with us and ultimately redeem us from all evil once and for all. The work Christ did on the cross proves that God is a good God and is willing to go through anything to set us free from the bondages of sin, death, and suffering.
- We may not know the reasons for suffering, but God does and that’s enough for me.
- It does not matter why there is suffering, pain, or evil…what matters is how we respond to it.
