Imagine you have $50,000 to invest. Assume that you won’t need this money to pay bills anytime in the next year.
Given the current situation, how would you invest it? Stocks (which companies)? Bonds (corporate or government)? Gold? Bitcoin? What would you buy? What’s your time horizon? That is, when do you want to be able to sell these assets?
I suggest you begin by thinking about how you would want to allocate your money by asset class, i.e., what percentage in stocks, what percentage in bonds, etc. Then hone in on specific investments.
Rules:
You need to identify at least 4 different investments. Briefly explain the reason for each investment, and tell me how much money you’d devote to that investment. (Use current market data wherever possible.)
You can’t put more than $25,000 in mutual funds (and you need to be specific about the kind(s) of mutual fund(s)).
Loans or equity investments to small businesses are acceptable investments.
