Your team has been retained as consultants to help CELL CHIP INC. launch its product into the global marketplace. Your team is assigned to investigate Brazil’s market. The primary objective is to evaluate the market potential for all the company’s product and determine the ‘best’ way to enter and succeed in that market. For each country, your assignment shall include, but is not limited to, an investigation of the following areas: Evaluate relevant economic, political-legal, socio-cultural and technological considerations pertaining to product acceptability, marketability and distribution system. [Hint: do a PEST ANALYSIS] Are the country’s economic conditions favorable to the marketing and sale of the product? Is the political-legal environment conducive to the marketing and sale of the product? Is the product socially and culturally acceptable and desirable? Are there technological considerations that would affect the marketing and sale of the product? Are there any other factors that may hinder or help in the marketing, distribution and sale of the product? Determine the legal requirements pertaining to product licensing, importing (customs duties & taxes), marketing and distribution method. (a) Does the product need any type of foreign governmental approval? If so, what type of approval and from which agencies (e.g. FDA, MOH, etc)? [Note: you should try to figure out the best strategy to get the product into the country without violating any laws] (b) If approval is needed, how would you go about obtaining it and what are the costs involved? [Note: gather all necessary forms and documentation and put these in the Appendix section of the report]
