The Aging Process

The aging process is a complex interaction of genetic and environmental factors; therefore each individual ages differently. For example, changes in body composition, body weight, and body systems are common effects of aging. It is essential for those who are aging to maintain a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of disease and infection. However, the end result of aging inevitably is death. Appropriate preparation for death contributes to well-being of family and friends and brings peace of mind to the dying.

For this Discussion, consider the impact of aging on personal health and wellness and the importance of preparing for death.

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Review Chapter 14 in Health: The Basics, 10th edition. Pay particular attention to aging and preparing for death.

  • Complete the Chapter 14 Personal Health Assessment “Are You Afraid of Death?” in Health: The Basics, 10th edition.
  • Think about preparing for death.

  • Review the media “Dimensions of Health Wheel.” Select two dimensions of health and consider how the aging process might affect each of them.

With these thoughts in mind:

Select one of the two Discussion Questions.

By Day 4, post a brief description of the two dimensions of health you selected. Then explain how the aging process might affect those dimensions. Finally, describe one strategy you might recommend to improve or enhance the two dimensions of health you selected for someone who is aging.

OR

By Day 4, post an example of a situation in which preparation for death was either adequately planned or inadequately planned. Explain the results and the impact of those results on family and friends. Finally, explain how this situation might influence your own preparations for death and dying.

I need a comment for this article.  250 words minimun

A preterm a baby is a baby born before 37 weeks of pregnancy. According to the Maternal and Child Health Bureau a study done in 2013 preterm babies born to different races in the United States “11.54 percent of babies were born preterm. Of those baby’s 16.53 percent of babies were born to non-Hispanic black women, 10.29 percent of babies were born to non-Hispanic white women, 10.15 percent of the babies born preterm were born to Asian/Pacific islander women, and 11.58 babies born preterm were born to Hispanic women.” (Child Health USA 2013, 2013) Racial and cultural disparities in preterm are sometimes attributed to education, age, income, demographics, if the mother has access to proper care and insurance, health behaviors such as abuse, and preexisting health conditions.

It is fortunate that with modern technological advances preterm babies have a better advantage in surviving then in the past. But unfortunately, there are also risk factors that are involved of preterm birth. According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention babies that are born before 32 weeks are at a higher risk of death and disabilities which include breathing problems, feeding difficulties, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, vision problems, and hearing problems.  (Reproductive Health, 2017) Extreme low birth weight babies and preterm babies pose an economical cost to the family, health care industry, and the community, as more care will cost especially if the baby needs to be at the healthcare facility for a longer period for assessment and growth. Long term disabilities and long-term care can affect the families economically and socially at home as they may need ongoing professional help and will also lead to stress and problems for the family. Families need to prepare themselves when a preterm baby is born and be ready to address and complications, disabilities, and difficulties.

Some helpful New Jersey organizations to help mothers learn of pregnancy labor and deliver which can help mothers make the right decisions about their health is https://www.marchofdimes.org/complications/preterm-labor-and-premature-baby.aspx. March of dimes has been working with professionals and mothers to help prevent premature birth and birth defects. The group is a well know organization through out the United States and especially in New Jersey.

I NEED A POSITIVE COMMENT BASED IN THIS ARGUMENT BETWEEN 150 200 WORDS Geopolitical communities that are created or 2023

I NEED A POSITIVE COMMENT BASED IN THIS ARGUMENT. BETWEEN 150-200 WORDS

Geopolitical communities that are created or known by natural or human-made boundaries such as rivers, mountains, or valleys (Maurer & Smith, 2013). I live in Mount Washington, Kentucky.  Mount Washington is located at what was once the crossroads of two stagecoach routes and was originally known as The Cross Roads. A phenomenological community is defined as a group’s perspective that separates them from other groups based on their culture, values, common interest, goals (Maurer & Smith, 2013).  The phenomenological community that I live is rural, farming community with a rapidly growing population in the last twenty years.  Most families have several acres of land, some choose to farm the land for tobacco, cattle, soybeans or corn.  Over the past 10 years there has been less farming done.  There are many farms that still exist in the area but gradually the city of Louisville in working its way out and we are becoming more suburban.

One of the largest challenges facing community health nurses when providing care would be the location of the people, how the community is spread out over several miles.  A nurse needs to study the community she is trying to help.  He/She needs to understand the cultural differences and economic status to be able to meet the needs of the particular community.  A nurse can use prior experience with similar communities to make new communities benefit.  Networking with other nurses and organizations over the United States can benefit everyone when trying to provide teaching to similar communities.  Also using that network system can help guide nurse to develop a plan for hard to reach and diverse communities.
