submit a short paper or presentation on your self-assessment and your analysis of your chosen leader. Analyze the results of your selfassessment and then focus on your chosen leader, analyzing his or her career track and explaining what impact his or her leadership skills had on the

organization and how the leader’s management style helped him or her accomplish goals. Refer to the Final Project Part I Rubric (below) for submission

guidelines.

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Self-Assessment

areas for development, and your skills, abilities, and tendencies. You could also consider results such as your communication and team-building

styles.

B. Briefly compare and contrast your self-assessment results to the leadership characteristics of the leader you selected. In other words, what skills

and abilities does the leader have that you also have? What skills and abilities does the leader have that you do not?

II. Leadership and Management

A. Analyze the leader’s professional career track and growth, focusing specifically on the leader’s management roles and functions. How are the

leader’s leadership skills and abilities different from the management roles and functions he or she fulfilled?

B. What impact did the leader’s leadership skills have on his or her ability to improve organizational structure, operations, and communication?

C. What impact did the leader’s management roles and functions have on his or her ability to improve organizational structure, operations, and

communication?

exercise-6-2

This exercise relates to Chapter 9.

For this exercise, you need to consider the following five scenarios:

  1. A local chapter of the American Lung Association wants to test the effectiveness of a brochure entitled “12 Reasons for Not Smoking” in the city of St. Paul, Minnesota.
  2. A large wholesaler dealing in household appliances in the city of New York wants to evaluate dealer reaction to a new discount policy.
  3. A local department store wants to assess the satisfaction with a new credit policy offered to charge account customers.
  4. A manufacturer of cake mixes selling primarily in the Midwest wants to test-market a new brand of cake mix.
  5. The TAMUCC College of Business wants to understand the amount and range of starting salary offers received by graduating seniors in each major.

To receive credit for this exercise, create a new journal entry and answer the following questions:

  1. Identify the target population for each scenario. Justify your choice and provide an adequate population definition for each scenario.
  2. For each scenario, identify the sampling frame you could use to draw a probability sample from the target population. Explain and justify your choices.
  3. For which of the five scenarios would a non-probability sampling method be least problematic? Explain/justify your choice and briefly discuss the non-probability sampling method you would use.

Build on your web site with the Cascading Style Sheet – Follow the instructions carefully:

  1. Working from the document you created in week 3 redo the coding to include an internal style sheet.
  2. Save your work and rename your document as “lastname_week5.html”
  3. Upload your file to the student web space.
  4. Type your URL address to the drop box.
  5. Make sure you upload all images and other files that are necessary to make this page complete.
  6. If you have saved your images in an “images folder”, you need to upload this folder to the student web page or create a folder inside of this space, and place your images there.
  7. Just for fun try to create an external style sheet for these pages.
You will need to up load your external “CSS” style sheet to your student web space, so it will work along side of your web page.
