Multitasking a Myth?
Roberta’s case study at the opening of chapter 5 is an example that sounds familiar to all of us. Based on what you are learning about working memory, what do you think about multitasking? Can we really multitask and be effective or is multitasking a myth? What brain systems are involved in multitasking and what would the brain of a “super multitasker” look like? If you think multitasking is a myth, why do we still speak of it and why is it a popular cultural notion? What recommendations can you make based on the working of the frontal lobes to help improve a person’s performance and why? For this post, please refer to the brain structures of the frontal lobe and reference the textbook.
