I need one writer to write 2 stories, so the writing style will be similar. Both stories range from 1000 – 1500 words in length and need query letters for each. Along with each article, you will write a one-page, single-spaced query letter addressed to a magazine you would like to sell your story to. To find these magazines (you must choose a different one for each article), consult the Writer’s Market 2018.

Basic requirements
Use 12-point Times New Roman font. Single space your papers with one-inch margins, and leave a blank line between each paragraph. Each article must range from 1,000 to 1,500 words in length.

Each article must include at least three human sources, who you talked to in person or by phone (email interviews are NOT allowed) and who contributed significant information to the story. These sources must be credible, and you should never have met them before reporting the story. In other words, you cannot use your friends, family, coworkers or classmates (both former and present) as sources.

You must include contact information and/or links for all sources on the last page of each of your stories.

Objective: Write an email that persuades new parents (people having their first baby) to start a retirement

account.

Scenario: Assume you are a financial services representative looking to increase enrollment in retirement

accounts for new parents.

Your task: Write a message that targets new parents and persuades them to start saving for retirement. Look

for information on-line about the benefits of saving for new parents. Spend some time researching the topic

and learning about options before writing your email.

Follow the guidelines of components of a persuasive message in Chapter 10: Persuasive Messages. In Chapter

10 of our textbook, there is also a good example of a “Mass Sales Email” that you should also look at.

Write the persuasive email. MAX word count = 275.

Don’t forget to put your request in the format of an email (include subject line, to/from, email signature,

introduction, main points with rationale, concluding statement with a call to action, etc.).

Ensure you are incorporating the format, structure and components of a persuasive business message

(Chapter 10).
