Project 5

Project: Final Project

Walden University envisions a distinctively different 21st-century learning community where knowledge is judged worthy to the degree that it can be applied by its graduates to the immediate solutions of critical societal challenges, thereby advancing the greater global good.

Walden Universitys vision

What is your vision for social change? What outcomes would you like to see regarding the social issue on which you have focused during this course? What might you be able to contribute to the realization of those outcomes? This Assignment provides an opportunity for synthesizing the information you have researched and the ideas you have formulated regarding your social issue. It also provides an opportunity for peer review and collective comments in Week 6.

To prepare for this Project:

  • Review the Final Project section of the Course Project Overview and Guidelines located in this weeks Learning Resources.
  • Determine the format you would like to use for your presentation: PowerPoint or essay.
  • Consider the scope of what you have learned regarding your social issue. What insights have resonated? What inspiration have you drawn from examples in the Learning Resources? What can one person do to make a difference on this issue? What can many people do?
  • With all of this in mind, consider actions you can take that might impact this issue. What is the objective of each action? What might be gained?

Develop a Final Presentation in the form of a PowerPoint presentation (a minimum of 10 slides, not including title page or references) or essay (3- page, not including cover page or references).

Include the following:

  • Introduction
  • Summary of the problem
  • Potential solutions
  • Key actions that you as an individual can take
  • Objectives/desired outcomes of each action
  • Expected objectives for the immediate future and 510 years from now
  • Conclusion

The following should be evident in the Final Project:

  • Research (using sources to formulate the presentation)
  • Explanation (articulating the issue or problem to be addressed)
  • Analysis (looking at the connections between the facts and assumptions when discussing your issue)
  • Stance (taking a definitive perspective and calling for specific goals)
  • Understanding (acknowledging any counter perspectives or problems related to proposed solutions)
  • Implementation (listing concrete stepsboth personal and collectivethat might be taken to solve the problem)

For both the PowerPoint presentation and essay format, be sure to support your statements with APA Style in-text citations.

ORDER NOW FOR AN ORIGINAL PAPER ASSIGNMENT : Discussion: Delegation of Nursing Tasks

Written Assignment for Week 4

Used the resources listed in week 4 to assist you in answering these questions-the answers should be used to study for the midterm and final exam.

After answering the questions, please upload to the site listed for the homework assignment.

The first section has to do with delegation, which we will have covered in discussing ethical provisions 4-6. This is a very important part of how you as a nurse will make decisions about patient care and accountability for that care. Nursing school and licensing questions will require that you understand delegation, so please look at this as a very important subject and read and answer for understanding, not just to answer the questions.

Please explain these in your own words as much as possible.

What is delegation?
What is supervision?
What is the meaning of the term unlicensed person?
What are the 6 criteria that must be addressed by the entity (the organization providing the care) before delegation of nursing tasks can occur.
What are the 5 criteria that must be met before delegation can occur.
What additional criteria are covered by sections C and D
What assessment is required prior to delegation?
What is involved in supervision of delegated tasks?
What nursing tasks cannot be delegated?
Using the Ethical and Legal Issues Power point, answer the following

(There is more information on this power point than we will use in NSG 100. NSG 110 will address legal issues and will not be duplicated here. But legal and ethical issues can be intertwined. Your focus for this class is the questions below.

What is an ethical dilemma?
What are you learning as a student in NSG 100 that you can use to address an ethical dilemma?
Identify the current ethical issues we are currently facing
What are the 4 elements that must be proven in a case of malpractice?
Identify critical ethical and legal patient-oriented issues.
Using the Code of Ethics power point and your book,

List each provision and the sentence that description of each provision
Based on what we have discussed so far in class and your review of the power point, describe one dilemma you think you might encounter in nursing that you would depend on this code to address. (This does not need to be long and involved, but what situation do you think you might have to face as a nurse that you could think back to this class and use what you have learned to address it.)

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Papers with numerous misspelled words and grammatical mistakes will be penalized. Read over your paper – in silence and then aloud – before handing it in and make corrections as necessary. Often it is advantageous to have a friend proofread your paper for obvious errors. Handwritten corrections are preferable to uncorrected mistakes.

Use a standard 10 to 12 point (10 to 12 characters per inch) typeface. Smaller or compressed type and papers with small margins or single-spacing are hard to read. It is better to let your essay run over the recommended number of pages than to try to compress it into fewer pages.

Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.

The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.

Diuretics play a prominent role in managing excessive fluids among patients suffering from chronic kidney and heart failure illnesses.

Diuretics play a prominent role in managing excessive fluids among patients suffering from chronic kidney and heart failure illnesses. However, their application can result in various adverse nephric and cardiac outcomes. This discussion focuses on determining factors that are necessary for the aged diuretic therapy on the CDK and CHF victims, the prescription processes, and how kidney illnesses impact CHF treatment as well as the medication to be provided.

The first factor when selecting a specific diuretic therapy is considering the acting nature of the diuretic. Great diuretics doubles the preventive control strength while the short-term ones last for a shorter period. For instance, the prolonged nature of chlorthalidone increases the prevention of hypertension and hypokalemia. The other important factor is checking on the disease severity. Patients experiencing severe conditions should be offered a loop or collaborated diuretics (Udani & Koyner, 2016).

The medical practitioner must give out clear guidelines on how the diuretics would prevent or manage the conditions. For instance, in the first factor, the practitioner should explain to the patient the strengths and the duration of the recommended diuretic takes to control the condition. While, in the latter, the practitioner should make the patient understand how the recommended cure inhibits the receptor inhibitors (Udani & Koyner, 2016).

Renal insufficiency leads to unfavorable cardiovascular results. Patients undergoing CHF medication may experience an extended treatment duration if affected by this disorder. This is because the disease causes fractures on the left ventricles and lowers the levels of serum creatine. In combating this condition, clinicians should adopt treatment mechanisms that aim at regulating the fluid overload by using diuretics such as, angiotensin which converts the enzyme inhibitors and carrying out dialysis to prevent the condition (Sarnak, 2017).
