I asked a few people from social media and family members what they think Zoroastrianism is. My father, who has his Doctorate in World Religions what he knows about Zoroastrianism and he gave me a bit of a vague response saying he wasn’t too well versed on that religion. Most of my friends on social media had no clue at all. One friend sad he learned about it in his freshman year of college, but doesn’t remember a lot about it.
I think ethical dualism is important because it gives balance to religion and helps to find a place for people to put their blame. It also helps to give morality to society. Knowing that there will be severe consequences in the afterlife as a result of your choices on earth, makes you more cautious and aware of your actions. In real life you see this manifest in the way that Christians, Jews, and Muslims try their hardest to follow the teachings of their scriptures in order to avoid damnation. In my life I try to be good to people as a Christian because the Bible says “you reap what you sow”, in other words whatever wrong you do will come back onto you. I have seen on several occasions in today’s society especially in the media where things people have gotten away with for years is now coming back to bite them and I personally believe ethical dualism has a part in that. When you align your ways with evil, the evil energy will always come back to you.
