Question is about Game Theory and curving class grades from a professor’s perspective:

Business Finance

If I set a curve for the class, in theory if no one chose to take the exams or turn in homework, everyone would pass the class without having to attend, turn in homework or take an exam. How would you set up a game (think game theory) in an effort to avoid this outcome from the professor’s perspective? Remember, think about payoffs from the perspective of students in the class and how you would establish different outcomes for different choices if students colluded together versus if just one student decided to defect.

You should be able to explain this in 500 words or less. Feel free to use any illustrations such as a payoff matrix to explain your rationale. Also, feel free to collude and work together on this. You can hand it in as a group or individually though if you hand it in as a group, then some people will free ride (we’ll talk about free riders in a couple of lectures).

Non-traditional benefits

Other

The objective of Article Review assignments is for you to seek out recent news articles on a benefit related topic or issue and apply course learnings to understand, describe and speak to the issue.

For this assignment, look up ONE article on the topic of non-traditional benefits (benefits other than medical or healthcare benefits that companies offer to employees).

Non-traditional benefits in general

The article should be 500-1000 words, less than a year old, and from a source that can be reviewed online.

In an essay briefly summarize the article and:

Describe the thrust of the article-what is the author’s opinion of non-traditional benefits?

What benefits are cited in the article and why?

Do you agree with the author’s opinion as expressed in the article? Why or why not?

You can submit your posts to our discussion board as an attached document; you can type into the text box; or you can submit as a combination of both.

1. Return to last Sunday’s Essay Two submission page, read the submission made prior to yours, and make notes for a peer review you’ll submit here. If you were the first to submit on Sunday, you may choose any draft to peer review.

      • Peer reviews should be 125-150 words long and include:
        • The name of your peer at the top of your post, so they can spot their peer review easily.
        • At least one strength that stands out to you.
        • Three specific suggestions for improvement that relate to specific aspects of the assignment prompt and to specific passages in your peer’s essay.

2. For EACH of the the following, identify and explain TWO points that stand out to you, that you appreciate, or that you have questions about. For each, be sure to write in complete sentences so another reader can understand what you learned or appreciate and learn from it, too.

3. Go back to the Signal Phrase page and look at the section on Word Salads. Word salads or passages with awkward wording are often created when we introduce authors, their professions, their article titles, and their ideas in one sentence. Find an instance like this in one of your essays, include it in your response, then correct it using the template shown in the “Eliminating Word Salads” section of the signal phrase page.

4. Identify THREE powerful verbs from the lists (found HERE) that you think will be useful in characterizing your ideas and those of source authors as alternatives to “says.” Of those three, pick ONE and share why you like it.

5. Works Cited Entries: Study one format for a Works Cited entry that you think you’ll commonly use. What stands out as difficult to you? What do you especially need to remember? How will you remember it? Then, how will you ensure you include accurately formatted Works Cited entries in your essays going forward?

To meet the B Contract

Contemporary Organization Evaluation

Science

In today’s fast-paced and global community, most organizations are faced with constant change. Research contemporary organizations that are currently responding to a significant change within the industry, such as disruptive technology; state, government, or industry regulations; environmental constraints; judicial or legislative rulings; etc.

Choose one organization from your research that has recently responded to major change, or is currently responding to change. Write a paper (1,250-1,500 words) discussing how well the organization is responding to the change dynamics. Include the following:

  1. Describe the organization and the change to which it is responding.
  2. Discuss the degree to which the change has been disruptive and how the organization has responded to the dynamics created by this change.
  3. Evaluate the strategies the organization used in its change plan and determine the level of success the organization experienced with the strategies.
  4. Determine the effect the change had on stakeholders, and to what degree stakeholders have resisted. Assess how well stakeholder resistance was addressed.
  5. Evaluate the overall implications the change had on interdepartmental collaboration.
  6. In your opinion, how well did the leaders of the organization respond and prepare for the change? What worked and what did not work with the strategies they implemented?
  7. What modifications would you suggest the leaders of the organization make in order to better address the change dynamics? What additional strategies would you recommend to assist the organization through this change?
